Our Studio Values

At Starr Pilates, we prioritize a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Our dedicated instructors guide you through each session, ensuring proper technique and alignment. We believe in fostering a community that encourages growth, wellness, and mindfulness. Our studio expectations include respect for all participants, commitment to personal progress, and a positive attitude. Join us to enhance your strength, flexibility, and overall well-being in a welcoming atmosphere.

Here are a few of our fundamental guidelines for our studio:

Before attending class, please read and review them to ensure an incredible experience for both of us.

  • Before joining any of our other group sessions, please make sure to attend one Prelim Class. This is crucial for you as a student to get comfortable with our equipment and for me to better understand your needs so I can help you find the right classes in the future.

  • Please ensure that your body and clothing are clean. While I don’t mind smells, dirt, or the usual sweat odor, it can be unpleasant for the entire class if you’re ripe. Please be responsible and take care of this before class.

  • Please ensure you’re punctual for class and attend the entire session. If you’re unable to accommodate the entire session within your schedule, kindly reserve that space for another individual. The door will be locked five minutes after class commences to minimize distractions during practice. This is imperative because our work follows a specific sequence, and it’s unsafe to miss the start or end. Of course, exceptions may arise; kindly inform your instructor of your circumstances so that we can make necessary accommodations.

  • All phones must be turned off and stored securely in the studio at all times. Utilize this designated time to unplug and dedicate this space to yourself and our community. If you need access to your phone, kindly proceed to the hall or outdoor area before or after class.

  • Kindly exercise utmost care and respect for our Reformers, weights, and props. Please handle all items with caution to avoid accidental drops, slams, or haphazard storage. You are solely responsible for cleaning and returning all your items to their designated locations in a neat and orderly manner. If you encounter time constraints, kindly inform your instructor or a fellow student for assistance to ensure thorough completion of the task rather than rushing. Remember that cleaning up is an essential part of the practice.

  • Above all our other guidelines, please refrain from discussing others’ physical appearance, whether positive or negative. Even well-intentioned comparisons can make individuals feel uncomfortable or self-conscious. Our space is a community where we can abandon these ideals and judgments. We are all human beings, with bodies that are unique and beautifully diverse
